User Manual
This manual explains the ViolaScope workflow from creating a project and reviewing photos to ratings, organization, export, data safety and troubleshooting.
1. Getting Started
Learn the basic structure of ViolaScope, the local photo workflow and the main areas of the user interface.
2. Create a Project and Load Photos
Learn how ViolaScope projects are structured, how to load photos for review and how to add more photos to an existing project.
3. Reviewing Photos
Learn how to use the workspace, filmstrip and the basic navigation and viewing options for your photos.
4. Ratings, Favorites and Color Labels
Rate photos with stars, mark favorites and use color labels as part of your personal organization workflow.
5. Culling
Use Pick, Hold and Reject to record which photos you want to keep, review later or reject during culling.
6. Tags and Filters
Organize photos with your own tags and narrow the visible set by rating, color label, culling status or tags.
7. Metadata
View technical and organizational information for the selected photo, including file, capture, GPS, IPTC, XMP and identity information.
8. Compare, Grid and Full Screen
Use the grid for an overview, inspect individual photos in full screen and compare two photos directly side by side.
9. Map, GPS and GPX
View geographic positions on the map, load GPX tracks and review time-based location assignments before applying them.
10. Vision Culling
Analyze similar photos, review image analysis and series ranking, and decide whether to apply a Vision suggestion.
11. Export
Export your reviewed photo set using minimum ratings, optional Rejects, XMP sidecars, a transfer manifest and controlled handling of location data.
12. Project Folder and Data Safety
Understand the managed project data, protect image resources and project information together, and distinguish project backups from catalog backups, XMP and exports.
13. Keyboard Shortcuts
Navigate and select photos with the keyboard, assign star ratings and set culling states without reaching for the mouse.
14. FAQ and Troubleshooting
Find answers to common questions and check typical causes of issues involving projects, filters, GPS, Vision Culling, export and keyboard control.
