ViolaScope Track is an iPhone application for recording location-based sessions for a photographic workflow.
Depending on the functions you use, locally processed data can include session information, track points, timestamps, coordinates, altitude and other location information supplied by iOS, Photo Spots, notes, locally associated photos, imported GPX data and files prepared for GPX export.
ViolaScope does not operate a server that continuously receives a copy of your recorded route. Data that remains in the local app data on your iPhone is not transmitted to a ViolaScope-operated route cloud.
ViolaScope Track uses iOS Location Services after the required system permission has been granted by the user.
During an active recording, location updates are used to build the tracking session. When permitted by iOS, recording can continue while the app is in the background or the screen is locked.
ViolaScope Track does not use recorded locations to create an advertising profile or a ViolaScope user-location profile.
Location permission can be changed or revoked in iOS Settings. Without the required permission, route recording or background recording may not function.
Photo Spots let you associate a place or moment with a recorded session or imported route. Information created for a Photo Spot is handled locally as part of the app workflow.
If you deliberately add or capture a photo for a Photo Spot, that image is handled as local app data for that feature. ViolaScope does not operate a photo cloud to which Photo Spot images are automatically uploaded.
ViolaScope Track can import GPX routes and create GPX files from recorded sessions. Imported route information is processed locally by the app.
A GPX file leaves the local ViolaScope Track context when you deliberately export or share it. After you select another app, storage provider or service as the destination, that recipient's own terms and privacy practices apply.
ViolaScope Track can keep local diagnostic information to help investigate recording problems. Diagnostic data is not automatically uploaded to ViolaScope.
If diagnostic information is needed for support, you decide whether to export and send it. Review exported material before sharing it because recording diagnostics can contain location-sensitive information.
ViolaScope Track uses Apple system frameworks and services, including iOS Location Services and Apple MapKit/Maps functionality. These platform services may communicate with Apple as required to provide system location, map or related functionality.
Processing performed by Apple is governed by Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices and is separate from ViolaScope's local processing of your sessions.
ViolaScope Track does not contain ViolaScope advertising and does not use ViolaScope-operated advertising-tracking infrastructure to build a profile from your sessions or locations.
The app does not require a ViolaScope account or a ViolaScope analytics account for its recording workflow.
Recorded sessions, track points, Photo Spots and related app data are stored locally on the iPhone according to the ViolaScope Track workflow.
You can delete sessions through the app. Files that you previously exported or shared are outside ViolaScope Track's local storage and must be managed at their destination.
Removing the app can also remove locally stored app data according to iOS behavior. Keep independent copies of exported data that you want to retain.
The website at violascope.com is hosted by IONOS. Website hosting is separate from the local processing performed by ViolaScope Track.
You can contact ViolaScope Track by email or through the dedicated support form. When you use the form, the optional name, email address, subject and message are processed so that your request can be received and answered.
The form is processed by ViolaScope's own website endpoint and forwarded by email to support@violascope.com. No external form or CAPTCHA provider is used by ViolaScope for this form.
Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the request, follow-up communication, legal obligations or legal claims.
You control iOS permissions such as Location Services and can change or revoke them in iOS Settings. Revoking a permission can prevent the corresponding app function from operating.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority. Privacy requests can be sent to support@violascope.com.
This privacy policy may be updated when ViolaScope Track, the website, platform behavior, the distribution model or legal requirements change.
